SF CITY RESOURCES 311
311 is a great resource to know about! It's a call center/ dispatch center for all city-related service calls. If you need to report a street light out or see something that needs to be addressed on city streets or sidewalks report it to 311. They can also direct help to a person in need of assistance - such as with homelessness services.
Download the app on your phone to help make reports easier and faster. You can take a photo of the problem and the location tracker on your phone determines where to send the right agency for follow-up. You can also manually enter the location if you don't use the location tracker on your phone.

The Presidio: History & Culture
The Presidio has a rich history spanning back to the time of the native Ohlone people. The Spanish arrived in 1776 to establish the northernmost outpost of their empire in western North America. The Presidio fell under Mexican rule for 24 years before the U.S. Army took control in 1846. Over 148 years, the U.S. Army transformed the Presidio grounds from mostly windswept dunes and scrub to a verdant, preeminent military post. In 1962, the Presidio was designated a National Historic Landmark and the site has been part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area since 1994.
